Takapuna Rest House is a family owned Rest House funded by the Solomon Islands Government (SIG) through Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2016 situated on Southern Part of Ranongga Island in the Western Province.
The Rest House has two rooms that can accommodate only four people at once. Takapuna Rest House also have a shower and flush toilet
It’s a simple establishment targeting people to experience remote life a local designed simple leaf construction house. Visitors to Takapuna Rest House can enjoy the environment and meet lovely people with fresh blown winds from the ocean.

The cultural information centre located at Takapuna Rest house where you can come learn the history and culture of Rannogah and even around Western Province. You will also given the opportunity to visit the old Tambu sites and watching some very rare bird species around Rannogah. Visitors can also see for themselves firsthand information of how locals reviving the old Tapa cloths and traditional dancers from Rannogah where locals will performing live. See how to do traditional cooking oven and using bamboo for cooking. Visit Mount Koritinu where visitors will see all the historical sites and experience a rare adventure tour which would take you for about 3 hours.
