Motumahi, ‘happy islet’ in English, is your comfortable and relaxing space while touring East Rennell. The friendly service, together with the unique natural settings of East Rennell, offers everyone something different and lifetime memories. The lodge is situated on an islet inside Lake Tegano, currently with two bungalows.
Accommodation
Bungalow East is a family set-up of one king bed and ample space for two single beds. You have your own balcony and kitchen.
Bungalow West includes two rooms with double beds. You have a shared balcony and kitchen.
There are four more rooms on the mainland, with bigger space for meetings.
Amenities include:
- Shared modern shower supplied through rainwater tanks, and flush toilet
- Water for drinking and cooking
Dining
Motumahi Lodge has a set menu — no à la carte. If you have dietary requirements, just let us know when booking.
Activities
Kayaks and a stand-up paddle board are available for guests’ tours and recreation. Motumahi Lodge provides logistics and organises tours and activities, including:
- Round-the-lake sightseeing tour, including the octopus cave and sea bird sanctuary
- Snorkelling WWII relics
- Hike to Tuhugago lookout, and beach activities
- Village experience tours
Lake transfers to and from Motumahi Lodge are complimentary.
