The Kuli Kau Tabu community welcomes guests with open arms, and the local fresh food is memorable. The village is where you'll meet locals going about daily life — weaving baskets, fishing, paddling canoes — in a spectacular natural setting well suited to couples, adventurers and families alike.
Accommodation
The Bunk Bed dorm room sleeps four with water views from the veranda — a great place to relax or share a drink at the end of the day (SBD $110/night). The Bungalow sits at the highest point of the village with incredible views from its balcony ($300/night, or $300/night for an exclusive closed booking instead of the usual $440). Children 11 and under in a separate bed are 50% off; 12 and over are charged the adult rate.
Boat transfers run Friday from Honiara, returning Sunday afternoon ($1,800 for 1–6 people). Three fresh meals a day cost AUD $30, and tours start from $25/day plus fuel and any applicable custom fees, payable directly.
Activities
Snorkelling, paddling a dugout canoe, bush treks to WWII sites, village tours, resident canoes, hikes, cultural performances, and the chance to taste or take part in local cooking and baking.
