Tufi Resort
A personalised boutique resort — a hidden oasis nestled atop a breath-taking fjord, with 180º panoramic views of the sea, fjords and mountains.
Tufi Resort is a place that makes the outside world and all its daily stress seem a million miles away. The resort is perched on an amazing cliff-top terrace overlooking Tufi Harbour. Located in Oro Province and only 129 kilometres (80 miles) east of Kokoda, Tufi Resort is the perfect place to rest the weary body after the challenges of the Kokoda or Black Cat Trail.

Dining & amenities
Dine on a selection of local seafood, vegetables and tropical fruits in the resort dining room, or enjoy a BBQ grill on the Fjord Terrace accompanied by a wide selection of wines and ice-cold beer.
Amenities include BBQ and dining settings, and an in-ground pool with views of the fjord below. The main building is a remarkable design that incorporates the reception, gift shop, library, restaurant and alfresco bar … hello margaritas!
Fishing
Bottom fish the deep clear waters of the Solomon Sea and enjoy fishing the east side of Papua New Guinea, with the thrill of hooking some big fish at Tufi. Dogtooth tuna, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, trevally, Spanish mackerel and giant barracuda are all in abundance in this scattered network of reefs of over 250 square miles.
Enjoy bottom fishing for red emperor and nannygai, or fish in the estuaries for the mighty mangrove jack. Experience the unspoiled Cape Nelson area, boasting the only tropical fjords in the world. Head upstream into the muddy waters of the small rivers that spill into the beautiful fjords, casting into the snags to hook up great fighting fish like mangrove jack.
The resort’s modern fleet will cater for all of your fishing needs. The boats are skippered by some of the most experienced local seafarers in the area, with intimate knowledge of the best spots to drop a line. Charters can be organised from a couple of hours up to all day; generally a 4-hour charter caters to most fishing enthusiasts.
Tufi Resort offers the unique experience of fishing in absolutely pristine waters on outer reefs that have yet to be fished — it is not unusual to come across two to three reefs in one day that are not on any charts.
