Tavanipupu Wellness and Spa Retreat is located in Marau Sound, Solomon Islands, only 25 minutes east by plane from the Solomon Islands capital of Honiara; this privately owned 5 star island is the South Pacific’s best kept secret. Marau's mangrove and coconut bordered deep channels are sheltered by coral reefs and many sandy islets, making for its unusual tropical landscape.
The island has an interesting history, it was once a coconut plantation in the 19th century, owned by Norwegian Traders who bought it off the locals for some ammunition. Some of the trader’s old gravestones still remain hidden amongst the long grass on the island. Due to the past political tensions in the Solomon Islands and the temporary closure of the Marau airstrip, Tavanipupu was almost forced to close. However due to the hard work of a few passionate people, the resort still remains today. Today the island is a tropical paradise surrounded by a vast turquoise lagoon. Manicured lawns studded with lines of coconut palms are the only remaining evidence of Tavanipupu’s colourful past.

Even if you’re tastes are more terrestrial, you’ll still be enchanted. A full breakfast, served on your veranda at your convenience; elegant and delectable two course lunches and three course dinners are served in the dinning pavilion. Enjoy Tavanipupu’s well-stocked cellar and full-service bar. The food is prepared by the creative masters of the Tavanipupu kitchen from the finest local and imported delicacies.
Although they serve a variety of tantalising culinary specialties, their focus is on the exquisite seafood that thrives in the pure waters surrounding Tavanipupu.
Accommodation
Enjoy the privacy and comfort of your own spacey bungalow overlooking the water. King size beds protected by a mosquito net and fan cooled rooms. The bungalows are well vented and their high roofs built with traditional materials keeps them cool night and day. Or why not hang a hammock by the beach (provided) and just get into a good book?
The Premium Royal Bungalow (where Prince William and Kate stayed) features a king bed, expansive bathroom with bath, private outdoor deck with shower, and sublime ocean and beach front view with private jetty.
The Deluxe Bungalow also feature a king bed, bathroom, private outdoor deck with shower, with stunning ocean and beach front views.
The 2 family bungalows situated on the east side of the restaurant can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 kids.
1 Standard bungalow is available with indoor bathroom.
All rates include gourmet breakfast, lunch and 2 or 3 course dinner, daily room service, bathrobes and turndown service. Complementary selection of tea and coffee is available in room and daily water bottles., fruit platter and champagne on arrival in the standard and not to be missed is our complimentary 30min 4 hand massage.

Don’t miss the chance to explore these pristine warm, clear waters teeming with colourful fish and every shape and colour of coral. Tavanipupu offer boat excursions throughout the sound that include visits to native villages, and uninhabited tropical isles so enchanting that they will fill your dream until your next visit. They also provide world-class charter fishing tours, as well as walking tracks or bicycling around the island. SUPs or kayaks are available to circumnavigate the 1 hour casual trip around the island with a swim or 2 on the way.
Fishing off the jetties with light gear is must for the fishos who love to test their skills.
Surfers may bring their own equipment for an unforgettable uncrowded surf trips on the local tropical reefs.
Snorkel equipment is available for all guests at no charge however if you love to get wet bring your own. Sporting equipment includes two sea-kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards.
