Serah’s Lagoon Hideaway

Waterfront bungalows in the centre of the Langa Langa Lagoon, where the islands are made by hand.

Serah’s Lagoon Hideaway is the right choice for anyone wanting to genuinely experience local customs and culture in a province with very little tourist traffic. Serah is a wonderful host who cooks some of the most delicious traditional meals you will have. It offers a unique experience you will value long afterwards.

Where you stay

Stay in waterfront bungalows or in the main house, where you will hear kastom stories and learn the ways of the people who grew up in the Langa Langa Lagoon. The lodge sits in one of the most interesting and breathtaking areas of the Solomons, about 15 kilometres from Auki, the capital of Malaita, right in the centre of the lagoon.

What you will see

Guests get an authentic demonstration of the traditional art of shell-money making and learn some of its uses. You will watch demonstrations of the traditional engineering used to build the man-made islands in the lagoon, visit modern wooden boat building projects, take a boat ride through the lagoon, visit the villages and have an island picnic.
