Santa Isabel Village Stay Package
Eight nights on Santa Isabel — resort comfort at one end, real village life at the other.
This package suits anyone wanting to combine a village stay with a few nights at a well-loved resort in the same area. Papatura and Noguna Island Stay together make a blend of relaxation, superb snorkelling, fishing, surfing and jungle exploring. Both provide three local meals a day, most built around fresh seafood and local produce.
What’s included
- Five nights at Papatura, in a rainforest lodge
- Three nights at Noguna Island Stay, in an over-water bungalow
- Airport transfers
- Boat transfers between the two
- Three meals daily throughout
Day by day
Day 1 — Arrive Suavanao
The Papatura staff meet you at the airstrip and take you five minutes by boat to the island. You are met on the beach by the resident dogs, Zoli and Kumma, and your hosts Kym, Pete and Marg. The rest of the afternoon is yours — swimming, exploring, or a cold beer on the deck.
Days 2–3 — Papatura
Paddle out to Dolphin Bay in the morning, take a boat to Honeymoon Island, go fishing or surfing, or do nothing at all. There is a good house reef to snorkel, or take the boat to the Blue Hole. What you do is entirely up to you.
Days 4–6 — Noguna Island Stay
A boat collects you for the hour-and-three-quarter run to Noguna, where the locals welcome you and show you to your private bungalow. Three nights swimming, snorkelling, hiking, exploring and spending time with the community.
Days 7–8 — Back to Papatura
Say goodbye to the people you have met and return to Papatura for your final two nights — a sunset, a good meal and a proper night’s sleep before the flight home.
Add on
A three-night Honiara stopover
Two nights at Parangiju Mountain Lodge for the view over Honiara and the waterfall and cave walks of that pre-historic part of Guadalcanal, then a day trip on the Western Battlefield and Nature Sightseeing Tour, finishing at the Solomon Kitano Mendana Hotel before your flight to Santa Isabel the next morning. Waterfall tours and meals are not included.
Two nights at the Arnavon Islands
On the way back from Noguna, stop in the Arnavons — 40,000 acres of community marine protected area across three uninhabited islands, and the chance to join the rangers on their nightly turtle monitoring.
