Three lodges the length of the Marovo Lagoon — Driftwood, Matikuri and Mavo — with long scenic boat transfers between them that are half the point. Village stays rather than resorts, with fishing, snorkelling over wrecks and bomb craters, and time with the families who host you.

Day by day
Day 1 — Brisbane to Seghe
Fly Solomon Airlines to Honiara, then on to Seghe airfield. A representative from Driftwood Eco Lodge meets you, and the boat transfer is a two-hour scenic run through the Marovo Lagoon.
Days 1–3 — Driftwood Eco Lodge
Solomon hospitality at its best, in a lodge room. Do as little or as much as you like — snorkelling, village tours, night tours, bird watching and more. Three hours of boat hire is included for fishing, snorkelling, island hopping or free diving.
Days 4–8 — Matikuri Lodge
Another two-hour scenic transfer through the lagoon. Matikuri was one of the first village stay lodges established in the Marovo area and has a great deal of cultural experience to offer. Visit the traditional Seghe markets and Bareho Village for wood carving and crafts, snorkel the nearby plane wreck, or take a bush walk.
Days 9–11 — Mavo Lodge
By boat to the northernmost point of your trip. Excellent fishing — basic gear is free to use and they will cook your catch for lunch or dinner. Take a volleyball and have a game with the village children. Mavo is one of the only lodges that lets you take your catch home: they freeze it, pack it in your esky and arrange the permits. All boat hire, tours and sightseeing included. Ask about a bungalow upgrade.
Day 12 — Ramata to Brisbane
Depart from Ramata, Mavo’s local airfield, and travel home via Honiara.
